The Haunted World of El Superbeasto

The Haunted World of El Superbeasto may be the perfect film. If not, it is pretty close. And I think if the Zombie detractors would give it a shot, they would see what a gem it really is. After seeing it on the big screen last year I felt like Zombie had somehow looked into my brain and animated what he saw.

Superbeasto is funny, violent, has tons of nudity, and has so many horror references you have to watch through a couple of times to catch them all. It is an old school horror fan's dream. Even the music in the movie, done by Hard and Phirm, is a riot.

The simple yet effective plot is about a mexican wrestler/porn director named Superbeasto who lives in the land of monsters. A stripper that Superbeasto has his eye on, voiced by Rosario Dawson, is kidnapped by mad scientist Dr. Satan(Paul Giamotti) and chaos ensues. The real stand out role is Suzi X(Sherri Moon) who is a hot, often naked, super spy.

Based on the comic of the same name, which is also great, The Haunted World of El Superbeasto is a 70s style romp of nudity, violence, and humor.

  1. Love the Benny Hill theme while Dr. Satan went on his giant rampage!
